Hello APA Members! I’m very excited to introduce my affiliation with your League Operators, Phil & Taz, and talk about some new and exciting programs we’re going to offer. First, you’re probably wondering who I am. My name is
Melissa Herndon and I’ve been playing on the Women’s Professional Billiard
Association Tour since 2000. I’ve lived in the Thousand Oaks area for 27 years,
and I’d like to work with the local APA to better serve the sport. I won my first WPBA Qualifier in 1999 and have been playing professionally ever since. I became a Touring Pro in 2002 during the BCA Pro 9 Ball event in Las Vegas, NV. I was honored to represent the United States in 2 World Championships; let me tell you that was an amazing experience! In addition, I’ve had four ESPN appearances and I was elected to the WPBA Board of Directors last year. My main goals are to help grow the sport of billiards, attract new members and to promote the industry in general. I feel strongly that working with and getting to know the APA members is instrumental in growing the sport that we all love. With that in mind, there is a forum on the South Coast APA message board, where you’ll be able to ask me pool-related questions and get to know me a little better. Phil, Taz and I are in the process of putting together some fun, new programs that I hope you’ll all be interested in. In the meantime, I look forward to your questions, comments and ideas. See you on the Message Board! Sincerely, Melissa Herndon – The Dragon Lady
